Antonio Leitão Torres

Antonio Leitão Torres of Harrison, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville. He was 89 years old. 

The Funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029 on Tuesday at 9:30am. A Funeral mass will be offered at St. Cecilia Church in Kearny on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 10:30am. His interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Friends and Relatives may visit on Monday from 5pm to 7pm and Tuesday after 9am.

Born in Ponte da Barca, Minho, Portugal. Antonio immigrated to Brazil, where he married his wife Maria Helena, in 1975 they immigrated to US and lived in Newark, before settling in Harrison in 1977. Antonio worked as a machinist, for Central Steel Drum in Newark, before retiring in 1988. He was a member of Local 1034 Teamsters, and of Our Lady of Fatima Society, he was a parishioner of Holy Cross Church in Harrison.

Predeceased by his wife of 57 years Maria Helena Torres (nee Fonseca) in 2020. Antonio is survived by his children, Jose A. Torres and his wife Maria Fatima (nee Cabral), Vera L. Torres, and his grandchildren, Alexandra and David Torres.
