Catherine B. McSorley

Catherine B. McSorley of Kearny, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother entered into eternal rest on Saturday June 4th, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old. 

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave., Harrison, N.J. 07029, on Friday, June 10th at 9:45 am.  Her funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia Church in Kearny at 10:30am. Friends and relatives may visit the funeral home on Thursday, June 9th from 4pm to 8pm. Her cremation will be private.

Born in Jersey City, Catherine lived most of her life in Kearny, briefly living in Newark and Harrison before moving to Kearny. She attended St. Cecilia Grammar School in Kearny and was a lifelong parishioner of the Church.

She was a dedicated homemaker and mother of six children, Kathleen Silva & her husband David, April Picillo and her husband, Paul, Eva McSorley, Guy and his wife, Tara, Anthony and his wife, Kimberly, and Christopher McSorley. She is also survived by her siblings Patrick and Rosemarie McSorley, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Catherine McSorley, her companion Gaetano Faragalli, Gary Gerstenmaier (Eva’s companion), and her siblings James, Roger, Peter, Theresa, Margaret O’Neill, and Susan Cruz.
