Catherine Rincon of Harrison, entered into eternal rest at home on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 after a courageous battle with Lung Cancer. “Cathie” was a non- smoker.
Private funeral services are under the direction of Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave. Harrison, NJ 07029.
Born and raised in Harrison, she was a life-long, born and bred “Harrisonian”.
Cathie graduated Holy Cross Grammar School in 1984, Harrison High School in 1988 before moving onto Montclair State University. There, she received an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Allied Health in May, 2001. Later, she attended Adelphia University on Long Island where she achieved a Master of Science Degree in MS Healthcare and Informatics in 2018.
She worked as a Respiratory Therapist at NYC Langone Health and Trinitas in NJ for 25 + years. She was licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey (BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP).
Always having a commitment to health, fitness and general well-being, Cathie became a Yoga Instructor in 2018, a Reiki Master Teacher in 2019 and most recently became an Ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church, on January 9, 2020.
She was a member of Union # 1199 SEIU, New York, NY. She also recently became of a member of the Harrison Cancer League, Harrison, NJ.
She was the biggest Yankee fan, loved concerts, yoga, running, mediation, crafting, art, all types. Loved museums, movies, salsa dancing, baking, especially for fund raisers.
Travel was always a must, especially to the beach, loved the sun.
Cathie loved to help people whether in her professional capacity or personal.
A tremendous animal lover, she loved rescuing dogs, cats. Cathie loved her life, lived it to the fullest of her potential, fought hard to fight this demon.
Cathie is survived by her loving Mother, Yolanda and her father, Epifano, Siblings, Olga Rincon and her fiancé David Alday and Damian Rincon, two step sisters Cheryl and Charlene Rincon, cherished fur babies, Maizy and Lolita, beloved cousin, Ivan Alexander Cardenas, dear Aunts and Uncles, Mario and Gloria Cardenas, Maritza Apaza, Elvira and Maria Ines Rincon, Bertha Camelo, Jamie and Concha Zubizarreta, Ruben and Isabel Ortiz and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her grandparents, Epifano & Carmen Rincon, Arcadio and Aura Lopez and her Uncle Gilberto Camelo
