Catherine J. (O'Neill) DaSilva

Catherine J. DaSilva, of Whiting, NJ, entered into eternal rest, at Community Medical Center Toms River, on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. She was 75 years old.

A funeral service will be held at the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave. Harrison, NJ 07029 on Saturday November 14th at 4:30 pm.  Friends and relatives may visit on Saturday from 2pm to 5pm.

Born and raised in Newark, Catherine lived in Harrison and Lyndhurst prior to moving to Whiting, NJ upon prior her retirement in 2015.  She worked as a teacher at Women Rising in Jersey City for many years before retiring in 2015.   Prior to that, she was a teacher at Goodwill Industries, Harrison, NJ for 16 years. Catherine graduated College in Brazil with an Associates Degree in Education. She was a former Parishioner of Holy Cross Church, Harrison.

She loved books, action movies and she most enjoyed her trips to Atlantic City.

Catherine is survived by her loving children, Zenya M. DaSilva Gallagher and her husband Keith and Antonio S. DaSilva II and his wife Marcia A. Saback, and by her cherished grandchildren, Zenya Alexandra Gallagher and David S Da Silva.  She was predeceased by her parents Bernard (1986) and Cecilia O’Neill (1993), and by her brother, Bernie O’Neill (1991).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home to help defray Catherine’s funeral expenses.   You may mail the donation or see one of our staff members for assistance during the visitation period.
