Celio Augusto Lopes

Celio A. Lopes of Newark, NJ entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday February 5, 2020 at University Hospital in Newark.  He was 73 years old.  

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison NJ 07029 on Sunday, from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Born in Taubate, Brazil, Celio was raised in Jundiai, before moving to the United States in the late 1970’s and eventually settled in Ironbound Section of Newark to pursue photography. He was a self-employed truck driver for many years.  Prior to that, in Brazil he worked in the banking industry.

He is survived by his wife Maria Fatima Lopes, his children Paula, Claudia and Marcel, his siblings Celia, Celina, Celso and Ceila. Celio is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his children’s friends. He was predeceased by his brother Cesar.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Associated Humane Societies, in care of the funeral home in loving memory of Celio.
