Charles J. Bubenas, Jr.

Charles J. Bubenas, Jr. lifelong resident of East Newark, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 6th, 2026. He was 63 years old.

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue Harrison, NJ 07029 on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at 10:15am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Kearny at 11:00am. His Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Family and friends of Charles are invited to attend his visitation on Friday morning from 8:30am to 10:15 am.

Born in Belleville and raised in East Newark. Charles worked at Verizon in Madison and thereafter spent many years working at Stop & Shop in Lyndhurst.

Charles was a devout Catholic who had a deep love for animals. He will be remembered as a devoted son, brother and uncle who cared deeply for his family.

He was a railway enthusiast and an avid fan of Clint Eastwood movies and chocolate. Some of his hobbies included collecting model trains, photography, gardening, and cars. He also enjoyed driving and spending time with pets, family, and friends.

He is survived by his beloved niece, Victoria Alzza, nephew, John Charles Alzza, and his brother-in-law, Juan J. Alzza.

Charles was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Bubenas sister, Cynthia A. Alzza, and cousin, Anna Kasparitis.
