Constance “Connie” Mary Wandras (nee Dudzic) of Harrison, entered into eternal rest on Monday September 23, 2019 at St. Michael’s Medical Center. She was 92 years old.

A funeral service will be held at the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029 on Thursday at 6:30pm.  Friends and relatives may visit on Thursday from 3 to 7 pm. Her cremation will be held privately.

Constance was born November 4, 1926 in Irvington, NJ to John and Frances Dudzic and was raised with her two sisters and a brother, Stephanie, Dixie and Ted. She graduated Irvington High School and then started working for Worthington Pump in Harrison during World War II, where she met her future husband William “Bill” G. Wandras. They married on May 25, 1947 and later on they moved to Kearny, NJ where they raised their two children, Linda & Glenn. Connie and Bill were married almost 50 years.

Connie loved life and was active in many things. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States with her husband, family and their many friends.

While living in Kearny, she was an active member of the Kearny PTA and the Arlington Women’s Club, where she was a member of the vocal group “The Choraleers”. They performed all over and their signature song was “Smile, Darn Ya Smile”. Connie had a great voice and won a singing contest when she was in her 20’s.

Constance worked for RCA in Harrison. In 1979 she was transferred to the executive offices of RCA at Rockefeller Center in, NYC and was in charge of the transportation for the executives. After her retirement in 1989, Connie & Bill moved to Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, where they lived for many years.

After her husband’s death in 1997, she stayed in Point Pleasant Beach until October of 2012. While living in Pt. Pleasant Beach she was extremely active and involved – member of: The Women’s Club of Pt. Pleasant Beach, First Presbyterian Church of Point Pleasant Beach, Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital Fundraising Group, The Red Hat’s Society and Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks of Point Pleasant Beach.

After Hurricane Sandy, she moved to Harrison to live with her son Glenn, and later with her daughter and son-in-law Linda & Jim Fife.

In her free time she enjoyed the beach, gardening, reading, Broadway shows, dining out, entertaining and getting together with family and friends. Connie was a Kind and Loving mother who always told her children “you can do anything if you put your mind to it”. She was very proud of her children and of all their accomplishment. She was also extremely proud of her son-in-law, Jim Fife, who is the Mayor of Harrison. She loved being called “The First Mother-In-Law”. Connie was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed by all.

Connie is survived by her son Glenn, her daughter Linda and son-in-law James Fife, also many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Just Harrison - Mayor Fife’s 503© Charity, 560 Cross St. Apt. 1D Harrison, NJ 07029 or Deborah Hospital Fund, 212 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ 08015, in care of the funeral home, in loving memory of Connie.
