Francisco A. Matos

Francisco A. Matos, of Harrison, NJ, Entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 9th, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at Saint Michael’s Medical Center, Newark.  He was 67 years old.

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029 on Monday at 9:15am.  A funeral mass will be offered at Holy Cross Church, Harrison at 10 am.   Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday from 4 to 8pm and Monday morning after 8:30am.  His Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Born in Ribeiro, Murtosa, Portugal, Francisco moved to the United States in 1974. He lived in Mineola, Long Island and moved to the Ironbound Section of Newark in 1975.  He moved to Harrison in 1990 and started working  for  The Archdiocese of Newark, Catholic Cemeteries, for many years.  He was a dedicated Parishioner and volunteer for Holy Cross Church, Harrison.

Francisco is survived by his beloved wife, Belmira “Bell” Matos, loving children, Rosemary M. Kolev (Nikolay), AnnaMarie Matos and Virginia Matos, Cherished grandchildren, Teodor Kolev and Arya and Mila Antunes, dear siblings, Maria Pereira, Lourdes Alves, Fernanda Martins and Augusta, Joe and Joao Calado.   He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.    He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Maria Pais Calado and his siblings, Jack Calado and Nazare Cruz.
