Jason E. Allen Obituary

Jason Edwin Allen was born on December 11th, 1979 to his loving parents Stephanie McLucas and Louis Allen. Eagerly awaiting his arrival at home was his big sister Gynger. Jason spent his youth between NJ and upstate NY (Poughkeepsie.) He attended Violet Avenue School and graduated from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, NY in 1996. Jason attended the Institute of Audio Research in NYC because of his love for music.

Jason was a self- professed bachelor who vowed he would never marry or so he thought.  However, everything changed in 2002 when he met the love of his life, Mercedes Gale. Jason and Mercedes married in 2007 and of that union were born three wonderful children that Jason would climb Mt. Everest for.

He loved his children Jahson, Jalani, and Destiny unconditionally and without reservation. Jahson his eldest and twin, to see Jahson is to see Jason.  Jalani, his first daughter, taught him how to be a daddy to a princess. Last but not least was his youngest daughter Destiny “the mischievous one” who would have probably sat on his lap until she was 30 if given the chance.

Jason was a compassionate person who enjoyed helping others and giving back.  He worked for The Salvation Army in NYC as a Truck Driver and was recently selected for promotion.  In his former years he worked as a solar panel technician and a superintendent for a management company.

Jason was a talented musician who was skilled at wordplay and creative expression.  His favorite musician and biggest influence was Tupac Shakur.  Although Jason ran into some roadblocks in his life, he was always the victor.  He was the definition of perseverance in the face of adversity.  He will be remembered most for his loving heart, bright smile, infectious laugh, and presence that lit up any room he entered.

On November 20th, 2022, Jason earned his wings while no longer encased in a physical form. His soul and spirit is set free to seek the Lord.

Jason leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mercedes, his son Jahson a National Guardsman and student at Hampton University. Two daughters, Jalani and Destiny, both honor students in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. His mother, Stephanie McLucas. His sisters, Gynger and Sarah. Three nephews, Jeremy, Jalen and Liam. A brother in law, Joseph, innumerate cousins, family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029 on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2pm.  Friends and relatives may visit on Saturday, from 12pm to 2pm.   His final disposition will be held privately.
