Katia M. Alcantara

Katia M. Alcantara of Kearny, NJ entered into eternal rest peacefully on Tuesday February 04, 2020.  She was 46 years old.  

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue Harrison, NJ 07029 on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 9:15am.  A funeral mass will follow at St. Cecilia’s Church, Kearny at 10am. Friends and relatives may visit on Saturday, February 8th, from 5pm to 9pm and on Monday, February 10th, after 8:30am. Her interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Born in Lima, Peru Katia came to the United States in 1987 and settled in Kearny. Katia was a parishioner of Saint Cecilia’s Church. She graduated Hudson Community College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 1998.

Katia is survived by her Husband Merlinhg, her children Melvin, Kevin and Ashley, her siblings Monica and Maria Roca and her parents Roberto and Rosaura Oriondo and Guido Roca. She is also survived by many aunts and uncles, Juan Roca, Jose and Isabel Bermudez, and Norma Perez,  her father in law Luis Alcantara, and her brother in laws, Victor Oriondo and Martin and Luis E. Alcantara.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home to help defray Katia’s funeral expenses, in care of the funeral home in loving memory of Katia.
