Margaret was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania. There she met and married the love of her life, Joseph Patrick Gilgallon. After getting married, Margaret lived in a few different cities across the east coast while her husband was stationed in the Navy. When her husband retired, they moved to Harrison, NJ where she resided for over 60 years. While raising her three children and being a dedicated wife and mother, she also worked part time at RCA and Westinghouse.

Margaret was an avid gardener and loved being outside tending to her Roses, Peonies, and Irises.  Her home was always filled with beautiful flowers from her garden.  When she retired and moved to Wayne, she and a friend planted all the flower gardens in her senior citizen complex. She continued to landscape the property until she was ninety years old.

Margaret loved to bake and her cakes and cookies were adored by her children and grandchildren. It wouldn’t be Christmas without Margaret’s delicious cookies and her family is so grateful she passed the recipes onto them.

Margaret is survived by her children: Richard Gilgallon (Mary), Michele Ferrarella (David), her Grandchildren Rachel, Richard, Dennis, Shannon and Michael as well as Great-Grandchildren Michael, Alanna, Colin, Skylar, Ryleigh, Oliver, Jack and Olivia. She was predeceased by her Husband Joseph Gilgallon in 1985.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation to: Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge 2 Shelter Lane Oakland, NJ 07436 in loving memory of Margaret.
