Maria Josefa Merzeau

Maria Josefa Merzeau, of Harrison, NJ, entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 28^th, 2019.  She was 91 years old.   

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029, on Saturday, June 1^st, 2019 at 10:15 am.  A Funeral Mass will follow at Holy Cross Church, Harrison at 11:00 am.   Friends may call on Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday after 9:30am. Her Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.

Born in Havana, Cuba, she was raised in Playa Santa Fe, Cuba. She came to the United States in 1973 and eventually settled in Harrison. She loved Art and greatly enjoyed painting.  She came in Second Place in the Harrison Senior Citizens Art Contest.

Predeceased by her husband Jose Miguel Merzeau (1990) she is survived by her children Miguel Merzeau, Jose Antonio Merzeau and Aniuska Mohan, her grandchildren Felim and Katherine Mohan, and a great-grandchild Sasha Worth.

She is also survived by her sister Zenia Fidencia Sorhegui.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home in memory of Maria.
