Marie (Choplick) Armitage

Marie F. Armitage (nee Choplick), of Harrison, NJ, entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on Monday, July 20, 2020. She was 89 years old. 

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave. Harrison, NJ 07029, on Monday July 27th at 10:15 am. A funeral mass will be offered at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Harrison at 11 am. Her burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday from 3pm to 7pm and Monday morning after 9:30am.

Born in Detroit, Michigan Marie was raised in Newark, NJ and eventually settled in Harrison, residing there for the last 60 years. She was a crossing guard for the Town of Harrison Police Department for 24 years retiring in 2001, prior to that she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Newark for 10 years retiring in 1957.   She was a Parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Harrison and a member of the Polish American Club and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 340 in Harrison. 

Predeceased by her husband, Ernest Armitage Jr. she was the devoted mother of Karen Hymowitz, Janice Zurawski, Ernest Armitage, III (Eileen) and Mary Mabie (Kenny), cherished grandmother of Joseph, Michael, Christina, Adam, Aarika, Ernest IV, Keely and Eilish and a great grandmother of Alysa. Also surviving are her brother, James Choplick, she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Marie was predeceased by her siblings, Malaine, Stan, Joseph and Loretta.
