Matilda Rodrigues

Matilda Rodrigues, of Harrison, NJ, entered into eternal rest at Care One at Evesham, Marlton, NJ on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She was 96 years old.

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave. Harrison, NJ 07029 on Friday January 8 at 9:45am. Friends and relatives may visit on Friday from 9am to 10am. A funeral mass will be offered at Holy Cross Church, Harrison at 10:30am. Her interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Matilda was a talented cook and was known for her incredible Thanksgiving dinners.  Everyone who joined her always raved about her perfect spiral ham. Regular customers at the Manor Bar and Grill loved her homemade dishes, especially her meatloaf and venison specialties. Additionally, Matilda created wonderful Super bowl buffets for football fans at the Manor Bar and Grill.  A lover of all animals, she would take in and care for any cat and dog who needed a home. She always had pets who she spoiled endlessly.  Matilda gave support and made many donations to charities and the less fortunate. 

Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Matilda was raised in Boticas, Portugal, She came back to the United States in 1941 and lived in Harrison. She worked for RCA in Harrison as a Tube Tester for many years. Matilda and her family were the Owners of the Manor Bar and Grill, Harrison which opened in 1948.

Predeceased by her husband Domingos (1992), Matilda is survived by her children, Amandio and his wife Ann, Domingos, Jr. and his wife Laurie, her grandchildren Amanda and her husband Kaman Hung, Adam and his wife Courtney Reinfried and Alec, and a great granddaughter, Elizabeth. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
