Matilde Antonia Hernandez

Matilde Antonia Hernandez, of Harrison, entered into eternal rest peacefully at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. She was 71 years old. 
 

A funeral service will be held at the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029 on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 10:30am.   Her Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.   Friends and relatives of Matilde and her family may attend her visitation  on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm and Wednesday morning after 10:00am. 

Born in Newark, Matilde was raised in the Ironbound section of Newark where she resided until the age of 8. Her family moved to Harrison in 1962 where she has resided since then. 

Matilde graduated from Caldwell College with a Bachelors Degree in Education.   She was the first Bi-lingual Teacher in the town of Harrison. Her most important vocation was being a Mom and retired shortly before having her first child.    
 

She enjoyed cooking and crocheting. She loved traveling to Spain and Walt Disney World. She was a born-again Christian and loved reading the Bible. 

 She is survived by her beloved husband, Timoteo and her loving daughters, Frances and Maria Hernandez, dear sisters, Antonia and Frances and her cherished niece and nephew, Christina and Sergio. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Antonia Camacho. 

She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
