Michael J. Sackerman

Michael J. Sackerman, 70 years old, entered into eternal rest in his home on May 22, 2024.  A lifelong resident of Harrison, Mike was one of five children of the late Richard and Lois Sackerman and, step-son of John Waivada.  He was the husband of Mary Ann Sackerman (Mack).  Devoted father of Jenna, Jake and Jamie. He was also a loving grandfather of Mikaela, Alexander (Jake 2.0) and Aliya. Brother of Daniel, Richard, Kathleen, and  predeceased by James. Brother-in-law to Diane, Linda, Patricia, John, William Mack (Maureen), Thomas Mack (Annette), and Linda Mack (Robert Gillen).  Mike was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was a dedicated Team Leader for FedEx working the Echo Shift (Night Shift) at Newark Liberty International Airport for many years, retiring in 2016.   A dedicated family man, Michael most enjoyed spending quality time with his children and more recently, his grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison N.J, on Wednesday, May 29th at 9:00 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Harrison at 10:00 am. His interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Friends and relatives of Michael are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, May 28th at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Wednesday morning after 8:45am.
