Paula Marie Tarantino Maione

Paula Marie Tarantino Maione of Bloomfield, NJ entered into eternal rest peacefully on Monday, October 24th, 2022. She was 75 years old.   

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029 on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022 at 10:15am.   A funeral mass will be offered at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Belleville, at 11am. Friends and relatives may visit on Monday, October 31st, from 4pm to 8pm. Her interment will take place in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.

Born in Hoboken, NJ, Paula lived most of her years in Newark and before moving to Bloomfield in 2016. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Art in Education from Jersey City University in 1975.

She worked as an office manager at Retina Associates in Belleville in the 1990s. She was a Retail Greeting Card Merchandiser for American Greetings. She finished her working career at Pathways to Independence in Kearny as an Administrative Assistant and Craft Coordinator.

She was an active member of the Harrison Lions Club. She was one of the 1st females to become a Lion and 1st female Governor for District 16A in 1998. She was an active volunteer at St. Joseph’s School for the Blind and for Camp Marcella in Rockaway, NJ.

She enjoyed gardening, listening to music, volunteering wherever she could and especially loved decorating for every holiday. The biggest enjoyment besides the Lions, Camp Marcella and St. Joseph's School for the Blind, was spending time with her 1st great grandson Liam Joseph. Paula had a true heart of gold. 

Paula is survived by her loving children, Kristin (Efraim Medina), and Frank Tarantino, grandchildren Anthony Joseph and his fiancé Leslie Romero, Hector Louis and a great grandchild, Liam Joseph.

She was predeceased by her husband’s Frank Maione (2018) and Frank Tarantino (1997).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Camp Marcella, in care of the funeral home in loving memory of Paula.
