Rita Mary (Murphy) DiMurro

Rita M. DiMurro (Murphy) of Harrison, NJ peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 27, 2023.    

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue Harrison, NJ on Friday, June 2, 2023, where friends and relatives may visit from 8:30am to 10am. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Cecilia’s Church, Kearny at 10:30am. Her interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.

Rita was born in Kearny, NJ to James and Jane Murphy on November 20, 1928. Raised in Kearny, Rita settled in Harrison after marriage. A faithful parishioner at Holy Cross Church in Harrison, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and granny. Her happiest times were spent surrounded by her family.

Rita was predeceased by her husband Richard Sr. in 2012, her son Richard Jr. in 1995 and her siblings, Jane Feuerstein, James Murphy and John Murphy.

She is survived by her children, Gregory and Patricia DiMurro, Donna and Edward Harris and Gina and Bill Tipton and her grandchildren; Ceallaigh, Thomas, James, Diarmad, Deaglan, Benjamin and Samuel. She is also survived by her siblings, Harry Murphy and Dolores Montelli along with many loving nieces and nephews.

The family of Rita DiMurro wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Edward Killilea for taking great care of mom.
