Sabino D. Beatrice, 91 of Hazlet, New Jersey entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Reading, Pennsylvania.
The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave. Harrison, NJ 07029. Friends and relatives may visit on Monday, December 14, from 2pm to 8pm. Tuesday, December 15 at 9:15am. A funeral mass will follow at Holy Cross Church, Harrison at 10:00am. His interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Born and raised in Newark, the son of Arthur and Lucille Beatrice, Sabino lived in East Newark before moving to Hazlet in 1959. He served his Country during the Korean War in the US Army from March 1951 to March 1953. He sailed on the U.S. General Taylor Troop Ship to Bremerhaven, Germany. Serving with the 7th Army Hq & Hq Co. 11th Engineer Combat Group. Tompkins Barracks Schwetsingen, Germany. His orders “ Keep Communication At All Times” Duties as a Linesman, Wireman. He returned home and began his career as a machinist retiring from Crown Cork & Seal in 1991. He married the love of his life Mary C. Rodgers, July of 1953. They met in 1948 and soon after, their courtship began often taking rides in his 1939 LaSalle. They started a family in East Newark then moved to the West Keansburg section of Hazlet, where they raised their 5 children. He was a Cub Master and Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts of America Pack 149 West Keansburg, NJ. The love of camping began having a trailer at Tip Tam, Jackson NJ for many many years. He loved taking his daily walks in his neighborhood and would sit on his front porch, neighbors would often wave or sit with him to hear one of his stories from the “ old days”. “ Big Sam” would often pass out silly goodies to the kids at the bus stop in front of his house. His big smile and kind soul would resonate to anyone he met a true Gentleman.
His love for family could not be measured, he never dreamed that he would have a big blended family. His most favorite roll in life was being a Grandpa.
Predeceased by his wife, Mary C. Beatrice (2003) and granddaughter Lori Nicole Kenenitz (2015),as well as his sister Josephine Cioffi (2019). Sabino is survived by his loving children, Arthur and his wife, Doris, Samuel and his wife Marian, Susan Muso and her husband, Mark, Mary Ellen Beatrice and Kathleen Beatrice-Anderson and her husband, William Anderson, his beloved grandchildren Sam Jr. And his wife Kate, Amanda and her husband Travis,Michele, Angela and her husband Billy, Lauren, Mackenna and Maryn, and cherish great grandchildren, Jacob, Kendall, Beatrice, Xander,Harper, Savannah, Owen. He is also survived by his dear sister, Marie Visco, and by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
