Stephen Shission

Stephen Shission of Kearny N.J. formerly of Harrison entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday February 27, 2024.  He was 95 years old.

A funeral service will be held at the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue Harrison, NJ 07029 on Monday March 4, 2024 at 11:00am.   His burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.   Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday, March 3rd from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m and Monday morning after 9:45am.

The youngest of eight siblings, Stephen was born in Swoyersville, Luzerne County Pennsylvania.  He lived in Harrison for 40+ years prior to moving to Kearny.   He served as a Master Sergeant in the U.S.  Army in Korea during the Korean War from 1950 to 1955.  Following the war, he worked as a Carpenter for 45+ years.   Prior to that he worked for Wilburn Chemical Company, Harrison.   He was a member of American Legion Post # 282 Harrison, NJ.

He is survived by his daughter Anna Marie White (Leslie), granddaughter Lindsey McCurley (Scott), great grandson Logan McCurley, great granddaughter Shawna Hurley (Joseph) great great grandchildren Hayden, Jameson, Jarrett, great grandson Brian O'Connell. Great great grandchildren Kaylin and Leah O'Connell, and many nieces and nephews.
