William H. Smith Obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of William (Bill) H. Smith, of Kearny NJ, who passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 14, 2023. Bill had a short battle with cancer and is finally at rest. Bill is survived by his wife Teresa, daughter Kim Kasprack (Mike), sons Bob Domke (Serena), Ken Domke, sister Shirley Lodato (John) and sister-in-law Barbara Smith. He leaves behind his grandchildren Amanda, Joey, Louis, and Brie as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother John “Jack” Smith and his parents John and Mary Smith (née Hainey).

Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue Harrison, NJ 07029.

Born in Manhattan, New York, Bill grew up in Harrison NJ, and most recently lived in Kearny NJ. He served in the armed forces, retired as a postman and spent his later years serving as a crossing guard in Hasbrouck Heights NJ. He lived in Kearny NJ with his wife Teresa and there, together they enjoyed day trips to the surrounding casinos, nights at the Meadowlands racetrack and weekend trips spending time at the homes of loved ones. He loved bowling, playing pool, the Rangers, playing dominos, darts and could always be seen entertaining younger family members. He would do anything for his friends and family and although he loved quietly, it was with all of his heart. You always knew what was on his mind and he made everyone who knew him laugh, cry, and clap at all the stories he shared.

Billy will be forever loved and forever remembered. No services will take place, as Bill requested, but we do appreciate your love and support during this difficult time.
