Zully Mercedes Olmedo

Zully Mercedes Olmedo age 58 left this earth on Thursday November 14, 2019 at University Hospital in
Newark NJ surrounded by her loved ones. The lord called her name, she answered that called and her
savior granted her eternal peace.

Zully Mercedes Olmedo was born on January 2, 1961 in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Rutilo and
Antolonia Sofia Valdez. She received her primary education at Miguel Garcia Granados School in
Guatemala City and continued to further her education by attending The Instituto Tenico Americana also
in Guatemala City where she completed and was certified as a Bilingual Secretary in 1978. In, 1979 she
made the journey to the United States. She met and soon after married Alfredo Olmedo in 1981 and of
the marriage there were 3 Children born Michael, Zully and Alexis.

Zully was employed at Haddad in Bayonne NJ.

Zully loved her family as they were the most important thing in the world to her. She loved life and lived
it with vigor.

She was predeceased by her parents Rutilo and Antolonia Sofia Valdez and grandson Jayden Reese
Parker. She leaves to cherish her husband Alfredo Olmedo of Newark NJ, Son Michael (Sandra) Olmedo
of Florida, daughter Zully (Marcal) Parker of Linden NJ, Alexis Olmedo of Linden NJ, Stepson Alfredo
Olmedo Jr of New York, Step Daughter Sandra (Walter) Olmedo of Puerto Rico, Sister Sandra Velez,
Brother Marco (Ligia) Valdez of Kearny NJ, Brother Herbert (Mayra) Valdez of Belleville NJ, 7
grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.

 Funeral services are under the direction of Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029.   A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 23rd at 9 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Lafayette Street in the Ironbound Section of Newark.    Please meet us at Church on Saturday morning.   Friends and relatives may visit on Friday from 4 to 8pm Only at the funeral home.
